Alytus region is a city and district of Alytus, long known for its natural beauty, lively lakes, unique history, culture, sincere and hospitable people. There are many rare, natural, archeological, architectural and urban monuments in Lithuania. The highest pedestrian and bicycle bridge in the country, recorded in the Lithuanian record book, located in Alytus. The city buildings are playfully decorated with murals. Žuvintas Biosphere Reserve is located in the district - the oldest protected nature area in the country, included in the UNESCO program. In the warm season in Butrimonys you can admire the only fountain in Lithuania in a flask. The mounds that have fallen around the country tell the story of the Jotvingians, and the snarling centuries-old forests tell the guerrilla struggles with the occupiers.
Everyone can have a great time here: those who like to have active fun, have a quiet rest, want to quench their knowledge, learn the secrets of Dzūkija crafts or cuisine, and eat delicious and hearty meals. Therefore, it is better to come, see and try once than hear it many times!
